Reduce your risk of falls this month at Bold: Our September community events

One in four Americans 65+ falls every year, but the good news is — falls can be avoided — and it’s never too late to start working on your balance. This September, we’re talking about fall prevention and hosting (free!) events all month so you can feel more confident when it comes to balance. 

NEW! Balance Bootcamp with Alicia

We’re launching our first ever BOOTCAMP! Join us for an in-depth look at balance and preventing falls. Instructor Alicia will share tips she’s learned throughout her career as a personal trainer and educator, and will walk you through topics like how to reduce fall risk in the home, stretches before and after exercise, and movements you can do from anywhere. 

Sessions start Monday, September 13 and run for the next 4 weeks. All sessions are held Mondays at 2:30PM EST / 11:30AM PST. 

We recommend attending all the sessions, but if you can’t make it — that’s no problem! Drop in when you’re available. 

Session 1, September 13: Let’s talk about balance

This 30 minute session will address why balance is so important as we age, and what we can do about it. Together, we’ll also test our balance. 

Session 2, September 20: Preventing falls at home

This 30 minute session will focus on what we should look for in our homes that may place us at risk of falling. Then together, we’ll do a short strength test.  

Session 3, September 27: Exercises to help with balance

This 30 minute session will teach exercises that help with balance and how to remain steady on your feet.

Session 4, October 4: Check in on balance

This 30 minute session is your opportunity to ask any questions! We’ll go over a final exercise routine, and reassess our balance again.

September live class series

We’re continuing live classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at our regular class times throughout the month! Join instructor Kelsey on Tuesdays for standing classes, and instructor Alicia on Wednesdays for seated. We’ll also be doing a special Balance Boosting class on September 22.

On September 23 at 6:30PM EST / 3:30PM PST, we’re hosting another session where you can ask Alicia anything! Falls, lifting weights, how to exercise safely, how to get started with exercise, what you should know about nutrition — we’re here to answer all your health-related questions.

Monthly Member Challenge: 60 balance class minutes

All members are invited to join our monthly challenge for September! Take at least 60 minutes total across any Balance Classes during the month of September, and you'll be entered into a raffle to win awesome prizes! No registration or sign up needed.

Balance classes are located under the ‘Explore’ page. Simply filter by class type and select ‘balance’ for a full list of classes.
