Frequently asked questions

Who is eligible for Bold?

You are eligible for Bold if you live in California, Texas, or Pennsylvania and are an Original Medicare member or a member of one of our currently supported Medicare Advantage partners.

I have Original Medicare. Is Bold for me?

Yes. Bold accepts Original Medicare for most members. If you are seeking support for any of the following conditions, you can use Bold.

  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease or high blood pressure (hypertension)
  • Obesity and weight management
  • Arthritis

Is Bold available where I live?

Bold is currently available to members who reside in the states of California, Texas, or Pennsylvania. Additional states will be added in the coming months. Sign up here to get notified when Bold expands to your state.

Does Bold offer primary care?

No. Bold is a complement to your primary care provider, not a replacement. Members use Bold to get support establishing and maintaining lifestyle changes, including adhering to a healthy diet, identifying an age-appropriate exercise routine, and more, all at their own convenience.

What is included in my personalized care plan?

Your care plan, which is created with your Bold provider, may make recommendations across a number of different areas, including:

  • Activities to help manage stress
  • Ways to increase your physical activity
  • Strategies to maintain a healthy weight
  • Age- and condition-specific nutritional guidance
  • Behaviors to promote restful sleep

Bold recommendations are grounded in evidence, so you can feel confident in your care.

Does Bold provide prescriptions?

No. At this time, Bold does not offer prescription services.

Will I have any co-payments or co-insurance fees associated with my sessions?

It is recommended that all members confirm with their coverage provider any out-of-pocket costs related to Bold visits.

Who are Bold’s providers?

Bold providers are licensed medical doctors and clinical social workers with specific expertise in lifestyle-based interventions for older people.
